A Message From Our President

To the members of the Ontario Filipino Women's Club/OFWC:

Welcome and good afternoon to you all.

First and foremost I wish you all a Happy 2016.

I am pleased to say that we did a lot of activities during the year 2015, from Breakfast Club, Terry Fox, Fund raising to falls view Niagara and Casino Rama. Daily food bank. All of these became possible with all your support and help. Let us all welcome the new year 2016. It will be bigger and more positive for all Ontario Filipino Women's Club officers and members.

OFWC’s monthly meetings are always held here at Wellesley Community Center on the 3rd Saturday of each month from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM. Please attend the monthly meetings to keep you updated of all activities and your presence here is always appreciated

A copy of our Financial Summary for January.2015 to November 2015 has been furnished. It shows a marginal growth of 60 % from April 2015 to November 2015. I am happy to inform you that we are in a strong position to foster volunteerism and charity.

For the past 8 months our membership growth is approximately 7%. The final figure will be presented after the deadline of membership renewal at the end of February 2016.

As you all know we are focusing more on community activitiesand participation. I am proud to say our Club is able to continue to support the Sick Kids Foundation, Red door and Run for Terry Fox Foundations, We volunteered at Good Shepherd, Daily Food Banks. We have visited a few elderly members with the participation of our young Princess Sarah-Jane Canlas.

We have received Donations from some of our Officers and Members, Luminus Financial Institute and BOS. Thank you for your generosity and continuing support.

Our Constitution and By-laws is still in review. The draft for amendments shall be presented to the membership for approval and ratification upon completion of the review.

The upcoming event is Valentine "" event scheduled for Saturday, February 20, 2016 from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM. This will be a special occasion for everyone to enjoy. Our dear Vice President Evelyn Reyes shall preside over this meeting.

The Appreciation Dinner: This is scheduled on Sunday 20 March, 2016. Detail as follows: Paid members with RSVP will pay $5.00 and guests will each pay $25.00. Venue is at 1686 Ellesmere Rd. JC Banquet Hall.

The Celebrations of Birthdays, Mothers Day, Fathers Day, Our Picnic on Saturday July 09, 2016 Area 3 Earl Bales Park.

Pilgrimages, Tentative dates, August .06 2016 September, our Anniversary Gala, October Thanks giving Halloween party, on November and of course December Annual Christmas Party. For sure we can squeeze a trip to Casino for fundraising for our Club.

Those are the activities that are lined up for our Club.

I would like to remind everybody to renew your membership FEE for only $10.00/year. You may see our Treasurer and submit your cash payment and she will be issuing you a receipt.

Thank you once again to those who participated during our recent successful OFWC major events – OFWC 33rd Anniversary and 2015 Christmas Party. Thank you for your unconditional support and we are counting on your continued support as always.
